How does annual billing work?
Annual billing saves you 17% compared to monthly billing. On Pro, Max, and Team (per seat), the yearly price is 2 months cheaper than twelve monthly payments — you get 2 months free. Exact amounts are shown in your local currency on this page.
Do all paid plans include a free trial?
The 14-day free trial applies to Pro and Team only. Max has no free trial—paid features begin as soon as you subscribe. On Max, the card highlights annual billing (2 months free vs monthly) instead.
Can I change my plan?
Yes, you can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time. Changes take effect immediately.

What role-based permissions does the Team plan support?
The Team plan supports four roles: OWNER (full control), ADMIN (manage members and settings), EDITOR (create and edit documents), and VIEWER (read-only access). You can have up to 100 members per workspace.
What is AX?
AX (AI transformation) is the process of finding what your team can move to AI and automate — and actually making the switch. On top of your organized knowledge, Specify surfaces AX candidates first and lets an agent team handle the work you agree on.
Does it work with coding agents like Claude Code or Codex?
Yes. Specify runs as an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server, so Claude Code, Codex, and local agents can explore personal and team knowledge directly. Keep the agent you already use — it just pulls in the same workspace context.
